SKATE MALMÖ ROUNDUP 2019
2019 has come to an end and you know what that means – Time for the Skate Malmö roundup! Scroll to see what went down.
SM 2019 RECAP EDIT
A selection of some of the skating that went down in Malmö this year. Thanks to everyone who contributed footage.
VERT ATTACK
Vert Attack kicked off and once again begged the question if the roof is too low.
FOLKETS JAM
Folkets Jam in Folkets park brought the miniramp centre stage. Lily Stoephasius dominated the women’s and a heavy Oski and Gabbe showdown with Gabbe taking it in the end
DORK ZONE
The new Skate Malmö skate and create platform saw space-activation events and workshops in Lindängen, Kroksbäck and Rosengård.
PUSHING BOARDERS/SKATE MALMÖ STREET
The behemoth: Pushing Boarders and Skate Malmö Street joined forces along with the SKATE 2019 exhibition and Smörgåsboard film festival.
PUSHING BOARDERS
Five days of academic forums, discussion panels and much more.
SKATE MALMÖ STREET
Unfortunately many street events were rained out, but the schedule was certainly busy none the less. Luckily Bryggeriet had a brand new streetcourse to offer!
NEW SPOTS
Some new ground opened for skating in Malmö 2019
PIG BARRIER
As part of SMS/Pushing Boarders, the Pig Barrier DIY crew hosted a build with the Globally Stoked panellists. Over ten days, the DIY spot grew a new section. More to come 2020!
RÖRSJÖPARKEN
A classic ledge spot saw a new surface and new ledges. Spring and autumn means sessions in the park!
OSKI PARK
For Oski’s shoe launch, Folkets Park collaborated with Bryggeriet and Nike SB to introduce a second indoor winter wonderland for Malmö. Open all winter. Come get it!
AND MUCH MORE…
And of course more sessions, missions, premieres and projects than you could wave a stick at.
