“Vert Attack has many fans out there…but one of the biggest fans must be Volker Lux from Hamburg. Lux is a die hard vert skater with his own skateboard brand, distribution and skateboard shop. Since day one he supported Vert Attack with prizes, beers, riders, stoke, fun times and a big smiles. I will never forget when Lux transported the Hamann stick on top of the roof of his car between Hamburg and Malmö and stoked the shit out of us with a fake 5-0 grind on that gnarly bar! We need more people like Lux out there..dudes that support and are stoked to the max! We really appreciate your support Lux! Skate or die!!”

- John Magnusson

1. Name, age and where do you live?
- Volker Turbo Lux, 41, Hamburg Germany

2. How long have you been skateboarding?
- 27 years (xmas 1984)

3. Why do you love vert skating so much?
- Speed and hight and that you can stick to your addiction until you die of senility.

4. Best memory from Vert Attack?
- First channel invert after about 20 years! (and I got trick of the heat for it!)

5. What is Subvert?
- I founded it as a vert skaters brand and organization and also distribution. Now I run subVert skateboards, subvert store (real+web shop) and I founded sk8vert association, which now is an all terrain skateboard club.

6. Top 3 all time vert skaters?
1st Nicky Guerrero, 2nd Rune Glifberg and 3rd: hard to say: Tony Hawk or Dave Allen? John Magnusson or Sandro Dias? Evan Doherty or Asher Bradshaw? Damn, not to forget Andy Scott! Hell! Daniel Cardone…. What about Top 10?

7. Describe a normal day for you?
- Bring my daughter to Kindergarten, work in the office of my skate shop, having new ideas, working late, not having a chance to skate vert.

8. Who would you like to see at Vert Attack 6?
- Evan Doherty!

9. Tell us about your board set up?
- Right now a subvert deck 8.5″, Ace Trucks, 60mm Bones Wheels, Little Wheels Bearings.

10. What is important for you when you set up a new board?
It should be a wide deck with a long wheelbase. I almost always exchange the bushings.

11. How is the skate scene in Hamburg?
- Pretty much divided into different groups, not one big family (like the Vert attack family!) There are liars, wanna-bes and vert-enemies. The D.I.Y.-Scene around Rote Flora / Flora bowl is getting stronger and stronger.

12. Last words?
- Keep up the good work with Vert Attack and we need help internationally! ;-)
